My academic background includes a B.A. in Psychology, University of Waterloo, Counselling Diploma, Granton Inst. of Tech., and Business Diploma, Toronto School of Business.
I have a counselling background—having worked with people with varying needs and ages—in addition to business experience.
I’ve also researched the area of stress management for over a decade because I feel it’s an important area that impacts us all in many ways. It contributes to poor health and disease, and it can inhibit us from moving forward and progressing in our lives. I specialize in this subject in my column, Support for Stress, in Healthy Living Magazine, and previously, for the international magazine, Natural Life.
And I’m currently working on a syndicated column, Aspire Unplugged, that’s included on this site, in addition to having been featured in Hope for Women Magazine several times. The goal of Aspire is all about moving forward because when we feel good about ourselves and our lives, we make better choices that lead to greater happiness and well being.
I also write freelance articles, covering a variety of health-related issues – physical, emotional/mental, social and spiritual – for magazines such as Alive, Healthy Living, Hope for Women and Natural Life.
My goal as a writer is to provide credible information in support of people’s efforts toward health, meaning and fulfillment—to help inspire people in their efforts to continue to progress and to live well—something I try to practice in my own life.
When I’m not busy writing columns, articles, blogs, book proposals, and being a mom, I try to fit in lots of walks, yoga and gardening.
